Design Director (2015)

It is exciting to work on a variety of projects and meet new people. If the journey leads to a full time position with a great company where our needs suit each other, I am open to that possiblity, as in the past I have enjoyed being a permanent part of the team. 

In the 2nd quarter of 2015 I took a few months off to rejuvenate and refocus on my future creative path. Feeling refreshed, I have begun to explore the world of freelance, quickly stepping in on a project by project basis where needed.

Gravity
Design Director (2011 - 2015)

 

  • Design Director for Kimberly Clark Adult & Feminine Care contributing to an increase in Gravity billings from 300,000 to 1.4M over a 3 year period.

  • Worked closely with Client Service to establish timelines, budget and project strategy.

  • Prepared and delivered creative presentations to Design & Marketing Client Teams, including Kimberly Clark and Family Dollar businesses.

  • Conducted store audits for trend analysis across multiple categories to influence strategic work.

  • Member of new business teams and participated in creative pitches.

  • Directed teams of in-house designers and freelancers to successfully deliver strategies aligned to client brief.

  • Led talent castings and art direction on photo shoots.

  • Prepared graphics for, and attended focus groups across multiple brands.

  • Cultivated an understanding and belief that a positive attitude and a sense of humor are an integral part of successful relationships with clients, coworkers and vendors alike!

Anthem/WBK, 2001-2010

Design Director (2005-2010)

  • Led teams in creation of quarterly marketing POP initiatives for Golden Corral with measurable increases in sales over a 4 year period.

  • Collaborated with Strategy Director on the Bounce and Chiquita businesses to build presentations for shopper experience and brand architecture platforms.

  • Managed complex assignments for identity, packaging, POP and print projects.

  • Worked closely with Client Service to establish timelines, budget and project strategies.

  • Mentored and provided art direction to less experienced designers.

  • Provided photo art direction, plus creative support to attending clients for food & talent photo shoots.

  • Prepared graphics for, and attended, focus groups across multiple brands.

Anthem/WBK, 2001-2010

Senior Designer (2001-2004)

  • Attended press runs to ensure quality of color and graphics.

  • Participated in brainstorming, product concept development and naming sessions on a regular basis. 

  • Designed for corporate identity, packaging, print, POP materials and web.

  • Design Lead for Bob Evans’ CPG product line.

  • Concepted creative against tight deadlines for Eureka! Ranch Innovation Engineering.

Fritz Creative, Santa Barbara, CA

Senior Designer (2000)

  • Partnered with owner to establish timelines, budget and strategy on each project.

  • Designed from concept to final mechanical for corporate identities, brochures, websites, direct mail and print ads.

  • Acted as Account Supervisor to a diverse group of small, entrepreneurial clients and vendors.

  • Maintained quality assurance via press run attendance and proof review.

  • Created company backup system to avoid loss of assets.

Marsh Brand Partners

Designer (1995-1999)

  • Designed from concept to final mechanical for packaging, brochures, corporate identity, POP materials and new business presentations.

  • Photo art direction within in-house photo studio, including working in close concert with food stylists.

  • Acted as Co-Creative Developer and Photo Art Director for the 1999 The Cincinnati Ballet season materials.

  • Kept company portfolio current and up to date.
